Back to School

It's been a long and lovely break from blogging, but if the kids have to go back to school, I have to go back to blogging. At least once a month. :)

This year marks a big change for me. Three days a week I have 2 1/2 hours ALONE! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to it. Today is day number 1. My two youngest have been in preschool for a whole hour and they are not missing me in the least so I will just have to do the same. Okay, I do miss them a little but there are no tears here. I've been waiting 11 1/2 years for a few hours of alone time each week. I'm going to enjoy it!

Yesterday was my older three kids' first day of school. There were a lot of nervous jitters since they are going to a new school this year. But after meeting their teachers the night before and walking around the school, they were much more settled about it. They all loved their teachers and each had at least 2 friends they knew from the ward in their classrooms. We felt pretty lucky about that.

Mikey and Isaac started preschool on Monday. They both have really nice teachers and are so excited that they have their own HUGE playground outside. Complete with artificial turf, a rowboat, tire swings, climbers, a firetruck, sandbox and more! The preschool also does this awesome drop off for school. I don't even have to get out of my car. I drive up with their official stickers with their info on their shirts and the teachers open the car door, unload the kids and take them to their classroom. Genius! It means they aren't sad when I leave them because they are leaving me instead. It made them feel pretty grown up and not the least bit sad about leaving Mom. Plus it will be awesome in the snow. :)
