Isaac's Soccer Season

Today was Isaac’s last outdoor soccer game for the Fall season. He has been on a new team this year. Isaac is a great little soccer player. He made some progress this Fall but in some ways it was a little frustrating. His coach is young and although he is passionate and enthusiastic, that sometimes translates to him getting frustrated and yelling at the kids. I think his intention is to generate intensity from the boys but to Isaac it feels like criticism and he often feels like he is disappointing his coach. Sometimes this means he doesn’t want to go to practice or even play in the games. It hasn’t been all bad. He’s had some amazing games and when his coach praises him, he is on cloud 9 and loves to play. And it's obvious that his coach really wants to help the boys improve. He has practice 3 days a week and one or two games a week. But Isaac is getting a little burned out with the schedule. But he does love his team. He's made friends and he does like his coach most of the time. We’re kind of stuck until the end of Spring so I hope it ends up being a good experience because Isaac is a talented little athlete and I hope he continues to love to play!
