Wildlife sightings from our house/yard over the last 3 days:

Friday AM: I saw 7 deer grazing in the vacant lot and scrub oak on the east side of our house through my bathroom window. I actually see them often here so every morning I open the shutters just to check if they are there. I love to just spend a few minutes watching them. It's funny how I only see one or two at first and it takes a few minutes for me to finally see the others. They camouflage well.

Friday PM: Calvin saw a large deer grazing in our front yard just a few yards away as he was coming out the front door. It looked up at him and then slowly walked away.

Saturday PM: I've been hearing an owl at night for the past few months and tonight as I was picking up a few things in the back yard I saw a Great Horned Owl land on the peak of the house above the great room. He perched there for several minutes "hooting" loudly then flew off. My first owl sighting "in the wild." Pretty awesome!
