Your Husband

Tonight I went to put Mikey to bed. He likes me to stay with him until he falls asleep. It's a habit I never allowed with the older kids because frankly, I couldn't. But it usually takes him less than 5 minutes to fall asleep so I usually oblige. He's always bothered though that I'm not there when he wakes up. Like I've tricked him or something. Tonight our conversation went like this:

Mikey: Mom, I want you to stay with me all night.
Me: I'll stay with you until you fall asleep.
Mikey: What if you fall asleep?
Me: Then I'll just sleep in here.
Mikey: No you won't. You just pretend to fall asleep and then as soon as I'm asleep you bloooooop (sound effect by Mikey) straight down to your husband.
