More Goodbyes!

Today we said goodbye to two more kids! Calvin and Kate are spending the next 4 days at the BYU soccer camp, staying overnight in the dorms with Jayson and Sadie Santiago. It’s a pretty big step for Kate. She is so excited  and totally scared= SCITED!

A little wrinkle in the plans and excitedness came this morning when we found out Sadie was sick and had been throwing up. Kate was terrified she would be all alone in the dorms. We knew Sadie would make it down later but not sure how much later. Luckily I called Lyndi and Pyper was signed up for the same camp. So we hooked up with them at the camp check in and Kate was calm.

We had to talk her off the ledge more than once late tonight. She called sobbing wanting to come home for the night. But Sadie was feeling better and was down there with her. And another tender mercy was that Cozy (Makenna’s friend who went to St. George with us over President’s Day) was their counselor. Cozy let her use her phone to call and helped her calm down by saying a prayer with her. She finally fell asleep after midnight. A bit of a rough first night but she made it!
