Serving Time Cafe

The tradition continues...

The day before school starts Elena and I take the kids for "one final meal" at the cafe at the Utah State Prison in Bluffdale before another year of their Prison Sentence (school) begins. The cafe is just outside the razor wire fencing at the prison and the staff are all inmates.  It's just a little greasy spoon diner but it makes for an interesting lunch. I'm always surprised at how packed it is. I committed a "Felony" (desserts) and had the peanut butter brownie. So good! It's always a bit of a zoo with all 10 kids. And Elena and I always shake our heads and ask "Why do we do this?" when the inmates bring us our greasy food and a bill for $35!!!
