Wicked Fast!

American Fork, Utah
Today Jeff ran his first half marathon. He has been training and running a ton but he just decided on Monday to sign up for this half. He had to be up at 3:45am to get to American Fork High School and catch the shuttle bus up the canyon to Tibble Fork, the start of the race. It was cold and early! I got the kids up at 7 and we rushed over to Grandma and Grandpa Davis's house. We could park there and walk over to the High School. But I knew Jeff would be fast so we hustled as fast as we could over to the finish line. We got there just in time! He ran 13.3 miles in 1:42! That's a 7:40 pace! That is so dang fast! I'm sure he was in the top of his age group but they haven't posted results yet. He said he felt so good that he never even stopped for water. The weather was cool since it was so early and he just flew down that canyon. I am really proud of how hard Jeff has worked this year. He is so disciplined and is always pushing himself to go further and faster. He is a great example to me!
After the race we headed back over to Grandma and Grandpa Davis's house for breakfast. They had cooked a beautiful meal of homemade protein style orange flavored pancakes with eggs and Canadian bacon. They had the table all set for us and we got to visit and enjoy some time with them. They are so thoughtful!
