A Long Day at Sea

Day 17 – June 30, 2016
Thursday

Today was an all day trip to Ang Thong National Marine Park. It was a little over an hour ride on a very fast speed boat out to Ang Thong National Marine Park. The weather was rough. There were only 13 of us on the boat and two people were sick. One poor girl threw up the entire hour. I was so grateful none of us felt sea sick.

We snorkeled around a small, rocky island. The water wasn’t too clear because of the rain and stormy weather, but we still saw fun stuff. The guides brought food and we set up an awesome Thai lunch on an empty beach with hammocks and swings and just our little group. We boated to another island where we hiked to Emerald Lagoon. We kayaked around the fringing shoreline of another island and ended up on a great swimming beach.

On the way home we had the driver drop us off at Fisherman’s Village so the whole family could enjoy the same pizza dinner on the beach. It was a long day, but a lot of fun for our last day in Thailand.

The boys loved sitting up by the captain. This guy, Sun, was friendly. A little too friendly. He made us all a little uncomfortable by the end of the day.

Kira and Calvin trying to comfort Kate. She was so scared on the boat ride out. The waves were pretty big!

After 15 or 20 minutes of being scared to death, she slowly realized we weren't going to die and she was able to calm down and slightly enjoy the ride.

Everyone wanted a turn on the swing.

Isaac has basically lived off of Lays potato chips and Orange Fanta on this trip.

The boys.

The girls.

The family above Emerald Lagoon.

I'm actually on my tippy toes. Shhh, don't tell Kira. ;) She loves that she is taller than me.

The stairs down to the lagoon were basically a ladder. Very steep.

Calvin found an old soccer ball on the beach. This kid loves his soccer.

I do not know how they had Cornets (frozen ice cream cones) out on this island! But Mikey was happy I had some baht so he could buy the very last one. And not have to share a single lick.

Oops! Calvin and Isaac got too close to the ceiling of one of the caves and leaned over to far and overturned their kayak. Luckily the could touch so they just climbed right back in.

It was seriously so beautiful.

Sibling kayak races.

These two won the race.

Isaac got hit in the head by Calvin's paddle while kayaking so he was pretty much done by this point.

I love this picture of Kate.
