A Quick Trip to St George
June 12-16, 2015
The day after Kate and Calvin got home from soccer camp we
decided to sneak in a quick trip down to St. George for the weekend. We were
missing Kira but it was the first time in a while where we’d gone down with
just our family. I think the kids were a little nervous that it wouldn’t be as
fun without their friends or another family but it ended up being a fantastic
weekend of great family time!
We did the Coke and Mentos experiment. It took a few tries,
but we got it to work. I took Jeff out to dinner for Father’s Day at the
Cliffside restaurant. The food was amazing. It was a perfect night.
On Sunday we drove back up to show the kids the view and see
the old airport. Calvin was shooting Kendama videos everywhere we went. We
drove out to Santa Clara to see where the Baileys and Ethingtons just built
their home and found a cool park where we cleared out the pavilion and played 4
square and then cooled off in the splash pad. It was SOOOO hot!
Monday morning we stopped by the Fractured Prune donut shop
before heading out to Sand Hollow Reservoir to rent kayaks and paddle boards
and paddling out the the rocks to jump off the cliffs. It was so beautiful and
so fun. The water is warm and the cliffs easy to get to and all different
heights so everyone could do it. We were laughing so hard at our pictures,
trying to get the funniest jumps. The kids were all happy and getting along. I
love times like that, when we get to share in a fun adventure and everyone is
getting along. Later we went to the movies. I took the little boys to see Home
and Jeff took Kate and Calvin to see San Andreas. We finished the night with
some take out pizza at the park from a little pizza place on Main Street called
Rigaletti’s.
We miss Kira!

Our movie got out first at a different theater a few miles away and we only had one car so the boys and I walked to Kmart to cool off with some gatorade and water while we waited for Jeff and Kate and Calvin.
Calvin was constantly filming his kendama edit. He's getting pretty darn good!
