Days of '47 Rodeo

Salt Lake City, Utah
Today we spent the morning unpacking and cleaning. I took
the 3 youngers and 3 friends to the Museum of Natural Curiosity while Jeff
stayed home and mowed the lawn and cleaned the pool. The kids did the ropes
course and played while I nursed a sore back, sitting on the benches watching
them play.
We met the Tillmans at the FrontRunner station in Lehi to
catch the 5:16pm train up to Salt Lake for the Days of ’47 Rodeo at the Energy
Solutions Arena. It was a slice of Americana that everyone should see. I
sincerely enjoyed it too! Riding the train was awesome—no traffic or parking
and we got to sit and talk the entire ride. The kids loved it too. We got R
& R BBQ and ate our ribs and brisket while we watched the cowboys rope and
ride. It would take some serious guts to do those events! Wrestling steers and
getting bucked around wildly on crazy horses and bulls? It is seriously insane!
And entertaining! Thanks Tillmans for inviting us along on your Pioneer Day
adventure!
