Kauai - Day One - Hanalei Bay Beach

Today we started our morning with a walk on the beach. It was stunning! The mountains surrounding the beach are amazing. I don't know why we haven't learned yet but we didn't have the kids in swimsuits. So they soaked their clothes. They couldn't help just getting a little deeper with every step. We saw turtles popping their heads up and surfers riding some beautiful waves out in the ocean. It was picture perfect.

We changed into swimsuits and headed to Hanalei Beach with the Tillmans. We spent hours boogie boarding, got pounded by some big waves body surfing, played in the sand and enjoyed the amazing scenery of the mountains, palm trees and the beach. It was awesome!

Before heading back to the condo we drove down the coast to where the road ends at the Napali Coast trailhead adn the Kalalua trail with a quick pitstop at the "Dry Cave."

Everyone was so tired. Some of the kids fell asleep on the way back. The rest went to the condo pool. It's amazing - so beautiful!

The boys kicked back at the condo for a while and watched the BYU bowl game while Elena and I ran to the Foodland to buy some very overpriced groceries.

The kids were so tired that they just wanted to stay in and watch a movie so we fed them a little rotisserie chicken and pasta roni before Jeff and I took a quick trip into Hanalei for a burger at Bubba's.

Everyone is SOOO tired with traveling and the time change that we hit the sack around 8:30pm. What a great day!
