Saturday is a Special Day...

...It's the day you get to spend 5 hours at the futsal arena! Today Kate and Calvin each had two games at the futsal arena down in Orem. 11:50, 12:40, 2:20 and 3:10. Crazy! In the winter it feels like our second home sometimes.

Kate's 2 games were first. She was so excited to "double roster" today and play with both halves of her team (they split the team into 2 for futsal since they only play 5v5). Kate played fantastic! She is really improving this year. I've seen great improvement just in this futsal session. And her coach has told me the same thing. She mostly plays defense and had a few great saves in her games today. They tied the first game 2-2 and lost the second game 5-6. But she has a great time and I love to see her confidence growing on and off the court.

Calvin's games were second. Kate and I ended up running to get some lunch during our 40 minute break and Calvin caught a ride down with a friend. We ended up running late and missed the first 10 minutes of the game. Calvin was on fire today! He scored one goal off a free kick before I got there and then scored a second in the second half from the other half of the court! The crowd cheered! It is so fun to see him playing so well.

This is Calvin's outdoor team. They split into two teams for futsal. Calvin played in a game or two with the team who won the U12 gold championship so his coach (Mateus) gave all the players on the outdoor team a shirt and had them take a picture together since they all played some with the team that won. Pretty nice of him! Of course Calvin was pretty happy to get another t-shirt. We love his team and his coach!
